LOVE AWAITS!!!

Writers With Attitude is so excited to present a special meeting we’re calling Cupid’s Course! This Valentine’s Day season, we’re bringing back one of our favorite poetry activities: Found (love) Poetry.

Found poetry is the literary version of a collage. The poems are made up of words taken from a printed documents such as a newspaper article, a speech, a menu, junk mail, or even another poem. Members will select words from the document and rearrange them to create a poem.

We’ve had so much fun in the past with this exercise and it’s always a marvel to see what our members end up with. For this meeting, we’ve got the added challenge of making it about love!

*There is no mandatory reading for this meeting*

Supplies and special V-Day treats will be provided!

We will also be workshopping our writing this meeting! If you would like to participate, please select one piece you would like to submit for peer review. We’ll be reviewing these pieces as potential submissions for our upcoming issue of our lit mag, LUNA. We are only accepting submissions that reflect this year’s theme of Love. We will workshop poetry, short fiction, creative nonfiction, personal essays and short scripts. Submissions should not surpass three pages in length. After you RSVP, email your piece to us at writerswithattitudenyc@gmail.com. The subject must include your name, date & title. An RSVP is mandatory before submission.

Workshopping will be available at our in-person meetings only. Virtual options are not available at this time.
